The surrounding area

The well developed road network leads you through the impressive volcanic landscape and therefore offers a special attraction. The topography is very varied. Rather flat and wavy routes can be found as well as challenging, mountainous climbs. All island regions are easily accessible thanks to the central location.

The Fire Mountains in Timanfaya National Park

Visit the "National Park Timanfaya". An imposing volcanic landscape of breathtaking beauty awaits you. Especially the colors and shapes of the volcanic cones in the middle of the rugged lava fields are a feast for the eyes. Take part in interesting geothermic demonstrations, bus, camel or hiking tours or explore the national park by foot on your own. 

The beaches of Costa de Papagayo

Sunbathe on the beautiful natural beaches of Papagayo. Fine, white sand and crystal clear water await you. The beaches outside the village of Playa Blanca are located in the south of Lanzarote and are best reached by rental car.

The lava caves of Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes

The passable lava tunnels of "Cueva de los Verdes" are well worth a visit. Let yourself be enchanted and inspired by the mystical aura during a walk through the ingeniously illuminated caves. The complex "Jameos del Agua" - created and designed by Lanzarote's most famous architect and artist César Manrique - is part of this cave system and just as unique. The cultural site is located in a collapsed lava tunnel and is harmoniously embedded in the surroundings with lovingly planted plants. It is an extraordinary spot of earth, created by nature and mankind alike.
